AIC LC110X-50 Brazed Flat Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger, Single Wall - 560,000-720,000 BTU

Brazed Flat Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger consist of stainless steel plate packs, which have embossed chevron patterns. The plates are turned 180 degrees to each other, causing the plate ridges to intersect and creating a lattice of intersecting channels. Fluids can flow in counter-current and co-current way. The entire construction is nondismountable and scaled together by means of brazing in a special vacuum furnace.

Major advantage over a conventional heat exchanger in that the fluids are exposed to a much larger surface area because the fluids spread out over the plates. This facilitates the transfer of heat, and greatly increases the speed of the temperature change. Plate heat exchangers are now common and very small brazed versions are used in the hot-water sections of millions of combination boilers. The high heat transfer efficiency for such a small physical size has increased the domestic hot water (DHW) flowrate of combination boilers. The small plate heat exchanger has made a great impact in domestic heating and hot-water. Larger commercial versions use gaskets between the plates, smaller version tend to be brazed.

The concept behind a heat exchanger is the use of pipes or other containment vessels to heat or cool one fluid by transferring heat between it and another fluid. In most cases, the exchanger consists of a coiled pipe containing one fluid that passes through a chamber containing another fluid. The walls of the pipe are usually made of metal, or another substance with a high thermal conductivity, to facilitate the interchange, whereas the outer casing of the larger chamber is made of a plastic or coated with thermal insulation, to discourage heat from escaping from the exchanger.

Brazed Flat Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger - Water to Water Heat Exchangers Applications:

Radiant Floor and Central Hydronic Heating Systems:

  • There's nothing like getting out of bed on a cold morning, to find warm floors heating your home. Our brazed plate heat exchangers help make this happen.
  • Solar and Geothermal Systems:

  • Using renewable energies efficiently. In solar technology, plate heat exchangers help you extract the maximum from the sun's rays.
  • Snow Melt Systems:

  • For those critical areas where snow can't be allowed to accumulate, we offer the solution that enables you to efficiently accomplish your goal while isolating the special media in the loop from the rest of the system.
  • Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Systems:

  • Need to separate your potable water from the boiler that's heating it? We can help, with the most complete line of plate heat exchangers in the world.
  • Swimming Pool and Spas Systems:

  • Our plate heat exchangers hold up against the corrosive effect of the chemicals used in the pool. All sizes, from residential spa to large institutional pool.
  • Outdoor Wood or Coal Burning Boilers:

  • Featuring compact size, high efficiency and low fouling rates, our plate heat exchangers work well for hydronic heating applications. Whether a rural outdoor boiler or a large office building, we have the size.
  • Condensers and evaporators refrigeration systems - Because of the efficiency and versatility, our plate heat exchangers are used throughout the refrigeration cycle, in these applications:

  • Cooling Tower Isolation. Cooling tower water is frequently fouled and agressive. Our heat exchangers can keep this from affecting the rest of your equipment.
  • High Rise Pressure Breakers. Pressure breakers in the heating/cooling loop help reduce pump load. Our heat exchangers can help, with a minimum of cost.
  • Free Cooling in Commercial Applications. Take advantage of a free source of cooling, and get the most of it with our plate heat exchangers.
  • Brazed Flat Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger - Water to Water Heat Exchangers - Advantages:

  • High heat transfer coefficient.
  • Small unit size with high heat transfer capacity.
  • High resistance to pressure and temperature fluctuations.
  • Cost efficiency.
  • Plates and connections: stainless steel.
  • Brazing: copper and nickel .
  • Easy installation.
  • Factory Tested
  • Plate Heat Exchangers Warranty

    10 years

Designed for maximum performance, the L-line's sturdy, rugged assembly is composed of stainless steel plate packs sealed together by means of brazing metal along the border of the units, eliminating the need for traditional gaskets or external pressure retaining parts. The plate packs are embossed with special corrugation patterns to promote high turbulence flow, which dramatically increases the heat transfer rates of the units thus making them a highly economical and effective solution for many process and heating application.

All Plate Heat Exchangers look similar on the outside. The difference lies on the inside, in the details of the plate design and the sealing technologies used. Hence, when evaluating a plate heat exchanger, it is very important not only to explore the details of the product being supplied, but also to analyze the level of research and development carried out by the manufacturer and the post-commissioning service and spare parts availability.
