It is the first media on the MERV rating scale to measure efficiency on particles from .3-1 microns, and filters a wide range of contaminants from the airstream when compared to MERV 11 filters. These pleated filters are able to capture minute particles like viruses, bacteria, tobacco smoke, that traditional non-VOC filters have no effect on. With 16 pleats per foot, which increases the strength, reduces the pressure drop and increases the life of the filter, it is unparalleled in its engineering.
