Features
- Stable Water Line, Dry Steam
- The entire heat transfer surface of the MegaSteam is located below the water line. This discourages corrosion in the tank, improves efficiency, and helps to produce steam that is up to 99% dry. Dry steam causes less wear to your pipes and fittings.
- Superior Accessibility
- The MST396SL-HB is designed for ease of installation and maintenance. The burner door is reversible and the rear plates may be removed easily for access to the flue passages.
- Simple Venting
- MegaSteam boilers include a barometric draft regulator and stainless steel flue baffles. These components provide simple, safe, and efficient natural draft venting for your boiler.
- Durable Construction
- Cast-iron construction of the boiler sections contributes to the incredible longevity of MegaSteam models. The heat exchanger is also made of cast iron, which allows it to accept lower return water temperatures.
- Product Includes

Burnham is devoted to pushing the limits of heating technology and efficiency. Their ingenuity is responsible for some of the most efficient boilers on the market today. The MegaSteam line is illustrative of Burnham's inventiveness. By including a three-pass heat-exchanger and thorough insulation, Burnham has produced an oil-fired steam boiler that is 86% efficient. Energy efficiency is not the only standout feature of the MST396SL-HB. It is also remarkably consistent and easy to install. When it comes to reliability, Burnham puts their money where their mouth is by including a five year corrosion warranty for the boiler sections. If your home is heated by oil and with steam, you can't go wrong with a MegaSteam.

Fuel Type
Fuel Type
To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Oil
Combustion Type
Combustion Type
Condensing appliances use leftover thermal energy from combustion gases to heat water in a secondary heat exchanger, resulting in higher efficiency and lower exhaust temperature.
Conventional
Vent Type
Vent Type
Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
