I've been meaning to come on here to write a review for some time. Since I have had no power for 5 days now and my generator has just been humming along... I thought now was the time.
I was ground zero for a major snowstorm on 1/2/22 and 1/3/22 where it dumped 15" of heavy, wet snow that made branches snap and trees lean over onto power lines. They are saying we *may* have it back tonight... But they aren't sure. I have my generator set up to come on after 10 seconds of lost power and to take over the load in 2 minutes after that! I don't know what I would do without it!
I live rurally and was told I would need a generator where I live because the power lines are all above ground. Summer and winter storms can knock out power for a day or a week depending on severity. After months of research... I chose the RS25 for my home. I wanted a light commercial generator with a liquid cooled engine that spun at 1800 rpm instead of the air cooled that spun at 3600 rpm. Seems mine will last longer than a air cooled engine. I also have a 1000 gallon propane tank buried in the side yard so I pretty much have no worries except keeping the tank filled. With the energy efficiency of my house I really overbought here... But I like knowing I can power not only my house but also any addition I might want to add. I was cooking in the oven and doing laundry last night while my neighbors are happy to eat by candlelight... But their freezer and fireplace blowers are hooked up. But then they also had to schlep to the gas stations with their Polaris's to fill up their gas cans... And I have been watching TV and actually been getting work done!
You CANNOT go wrong with this generator! I'm going to reward it with a complete servicing this spring. I already have the parts on hand!
Buy this! Yes... It's expensive... But in this case, at least... You get what you pay for!
