The generator is designed to operate under extreme environmental conditions including cold weather starts at as low as -40 degrees F.
Aluminum sound attenuated enclosure, Level 1 with muffler installed, sandstone color
Operates at 1800RPM
Transfers automatically, natural gas or propane.
60 dB(A) at 23 ft (7 m) with sound level 2 enclosure.
The generator set enclosure has been evaluated to withstand 180 MPH wind loads.
Flexible Exercise as little as 2 minutes every 6 months - reducing unnecessary fuel consumption, emissions and noise.
Aluminum material plus durable powder coat paint provides the best anti-corrosion performance.
Comes with a 2 year base warranty when used in EPA-Stationary Emergency application.

I had agonized over what brand unit to purchase after Sandy came through the East Coast. I read and read about all the different brands, and in the end I chose the Cummins RS30.
As luck would have it, since I have installed the unit over 2 years ago I have not had a single chance to use it. It has exercised, run it's test and so on, but never really had to use it. On Saturday April 4 2016 we had very serious storms roll through, and knocked tons of people off the Grid. The unit came on, ran for 27 hours without a single problem. I could not have asked for a better experience during a power outage.
The RS 30 was sized about right for what I needed to have my life uninterrupted by an outage, and load changes seemed to have little or no effect.
The unit is super quiet, and that is one of the reasons I chose the RS30. This is the first model in sequence with a turbo, and that does tend to dampen exhaust noise. It is placed on the far end of my house, and if the house is quiet you can just barley hear it running.
I am sure there is plenty of good to be said about other brands, but Cummins to me was the best choice and I would not do anything different if I had to do it over again.
