Anyone who had their dryer vented out the roof needs this product. Easy to install and traps the lint the dryer did not catch. Easy to install.

Pros:
Durable, High Quality, I'd Buy It Again

Much Better Than the Old Version

This was a replacement for the older plastic version by FanTech. With tin construction, it seems much more durable and the screen is unlikely to bend or break.
There were no mounting tabs, unlike the older version, so I had to drill and screw thought the back--mine is wall mounted while this was built for in-wall installation.
Am a little worried about the plastic window on the front--I noticed when I remove the front cover for cleanout I often depress that window accidently--and I hope it does not dislodge or break.

Had the mesh falling off of DBLT 4 (the predecessor model to DBLT4W). Customer service not only resolved the issue to my satisfaction, but also was very polite and professional about it. THANK YOU eComfort!

Could Be Better

The unit has a few issues that should be addressed.
1. The inlet and outlet ducts are two different sizes but documentation says 4". I have one duct connection at 3 3/16" inside and 3 29/32" outside diameter and the other end is 4" inside and 4 3/32" outside diameter. This makes it hard to get a good seal or use adjustable elbows on the trap.
2. The cover used has the screen attached to it but has no seal or gasket between the lid and the main box. This is a leak point and as we all know, lint will blow out from any hole no matter how small.
3. The viewing window on the cover is cheap plastic and is not even sealed to the cover. It is basically wedged under the screen securing screws and is another area for leaks. We want to catch lint but not at the expense of blowing back into the house.
I can't believe that the engineers that designed this unit didn't see these issues.

Does this work for a gas clothes dryer that is vented out the wall immediately behind the dryer into the garage? I need something to capture the additional lint.
