Fujitsu - 15k BTU Cooling + Heating - RLS3 Wall Mounted Air Conditioning System - 25.3 SEER

I have owned several mini split systems. This by far is the most efficient. I ran this in an 80 degree day, slightly humid, and temperature of air from the unit was 39 degrees. I have not ran this in the winter yet, but expecting good results.

I'm really pleased with the initial performance of the 15RSL3 in heat mode. Installed in a drafty old house, the unit is easily heating a 40x15 room. The outside unit is also very quiet, much quieter than a neighbor's nearby traditional heat pump. Installation was straightforward though I am still struggling with programming the remote.

Installed my unit in April/2015. Live in the pacific northwest. Originally installed it as a make work project as I'm recently retired and didn't expect much.

It works so much better than I had ever expected..heating or cooling. So much so, that I'm just in the process of installing another one for the bedrooms area. It costs 67 cents a day to run for either modality!

For most of the winter, I will likely not use the gas boiler.

These units are durable but delicate to install. I can see that a ham handed installer might easily create problems...so make sure you have a skilled practitioner install this product.

I've got a 334 sqft bunkhouse/office on the ranch. It's been pretty toasty this summer so far & I've been on the computer alot. Needless to say computers are great for putting out heat!! It got to the point where I could only do computer work at night & then I would have to step outside where it was only 90 to cool off. The poor computers fan was running full blast trying to cool the CPU all the time. And of course who wants to spend the night in the bunkhouse!

Well I fixed that problem with the Fujitsu 15,000. Installation was easy. I ordered all the parts and components from eComfort so I wouldn't have to run to town & try to find something which I'm sure wouldn't be in stock. The only thing I missed getting was an adapter for my vacuum pump to hook up to the service port. (threads were different)

When we turned it on we thought we had messed up since it didn't seem to come on. We pressed the manual/auto button & verified the indoor unit was blowing cold but couldn't hear the outdoor unit coming on. It wasn't until we finally went outside to trouble shoot the unit that we could see the fan blade was moving! Talk about a quiet unit. The wind blowing thru leaves makes more noise. Back inside we went. Next problem was with the human sensor not being able to detect movement in rooms where the temp is over 88. Short discussion followed about the unit thinking it was too warm for any humans to be in the room so there was no need to turn on vs that's why we installed an a/c because it's too gd hot in the room for humans and how are we supposed to get the room temp down to 88 so that it turns on.

All kidding aside the remote is what gave us the most problems and the reason for the 3 stars on FEATURES. We follow the KISS principle around here & the remote control functions are WAY more than what we want. Really the only thing I want the remote to do is to function as a simple thermostat. I just want to be able to set the temp for what I want and that's it. Now if you like programming the unit to the Nth degree maybe you would give features 5 stars.

As to performance, WOW. The indoor unit is whisper quiet. Just a hush of air movement. No problem holding constant temp throughout the day & night. As for the outdoor unit you just don't know it's running unless you put your hand down there by the fan. The computer CPU fan now runs at a slow speed & I can get on the computer during the day. I now have to step outside to warm up and guys want to spend the night.

It's way more quiet than I expected and it cools better than I expected. It does such a nice job that I'm thinking of replacing the main house's HVAC with some mini-splits when the Rudd goes down.
