Living in a rural area, we tend to get short-term blackouts during heavy storms from downed trees. Living in Florida also adds the long-term power outages during Hurricane Season. We shopped for many options and always tended to go back to Generac for many reasons: all in one setup, enclosures, transfer switch options, etc. And what I like best is their proven reliability and the fact that pricing is quite stable regardless of where you buy it from: no haggling. We opted for the 24kW unit and 200 Amp trsnfer switch to handle the entire home. This guarantees our well pump is always available, as well as everything else in the home.
Although it is not truly a DIY deal because of propane or natural gas connections, as well as connecting to the house service, the fully automatic transfer switch function is well worth the investment. Unlike the old way I was doing it, where I had to run out in the rain and wind to pull our the portable generator and perform all the connections manually, this does it all on its own. That is worth it, in it of itself. PED did an amazing job with the logistics to get it to my place... not a single scratch on the unit and the box was intact. I loved this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend this generator and PED.
The only CON, really, was that the app used by Generac for the generator would not load on my 3 year old Android phone. I had to use a spare phone I had (one year newer) to get the app to load. Fortunately, Generac's customer service people were amazing and helped me get the setup completed without the app. So, there is no real need for it.

I have installed Generac Generators for over ten years, and never have I had a complaint. I have a 24K installed at my residence and the only house in my subdivision. We have power outages during storms all the time and are the only household that has power, so I make sure that my outdoor lights are on!

Our 24K Generac is 2 yrs. old this mo. This last Hurricane that came through Houston area caused us to lose power for 4 days.. In 100 Degree temperatures our generator never missed a beat!! We have a 4K sq.foot home with two A/Cs. It ran everything including 2 refrigerators and 2 freezers. Best investment we ever made. Bad weather? Bring it own!!

We live north of Houston. Our 24 kw generator was installed the week before Hurricane Beryl hit. It is still running 4 days later powering our whole house. Not sure when power will come back. This was definitely a great investment.

This is the worse purchase I ever made. We had the product for 3 months first time running it. The brushes burned out. The product ran for 5 hours. The product was almost 9,000, when we needed it the most it died on us. I will be talking to someone tomorrow. I would like a refund. Please don’t purchase this product.

Replaced a 15 year old 14KW Generac and service disconnect used the old box and replaced with the new controls, direct replacement. The wifi is a very good addition with the 24 KW unit.
