- Skip the Prep Work
- Forget draining water lines and hot water systems; the Cold-Shot® allows you to make repairs and adjustments even while pipes are pressurized.
- Works with Most Water Systems
- The Cold-Shot® is designed to freeze liquids in steel, copper, cast iron, aluminum and plastic pipes. Ten included freeze heads allow you to work on 1/8 to 2" pipes.
- Cost Effective Package
- Compared to refrigerator-type units, the Cold-Shot® comes in a more compact and less expensive package. Compared to bag-type units, the Cold-Shot® freezes pipes faster without using as much CO2.
- Speedy Operation
- With freeze heads designed to fit 10 different pipe sizes, the Cold-Shot® creates an optimal seal that freezes 1/2 copper tubing in just five minutes and 1/2" cast iron pipe in only three.
- Powerful Freeze Packs
- Using CO2, the Cold-Shot® can freeze water down to -110° F, creating a dry ice pack that can withstand 7,000 psi without damaging the pipe.

One of the biggest pains of cutting into water piping is the amount of work that goes into preparing the system for maintenance. With the General Wire Cold-Shot® pipe freezing kit, you won't have to drain or depressurize water lines, sprinkler systems, or hot water systems before cutting into the pipe. The Cold-Shot® freezes water around the area you need to make a cut, allowing the hydronic system to remain pressurized while you work. The Cold-Shot® uses liquid CO2 to lower the pipe temperature to -110° F, which forms an ice pack in the pipe that can withstand 7,000 psi without damaging the pipe. This kit includes 10 sets of freeze heads for 1/8" to 2" lines, allowing for maintenance on a variety of water piping or tubing systems.
Product Note
A dip tube-type CO2 cylinder is not included with this kit, but is required for operation.
