Features
- All-Aluminum Evaporator Coil
- Goodman's evaporator coils use a reliable all-aluminum design featuring sine fins and grooved tubes. This design maximizes surface area and optimizes heat transfer for efficient comfort.
- Condensate Management
- The CAPFA features foil-faced insulation to inhibit the formation of condensate and a rust-resistant thermoplastic drain pan to capture what does form, keeping your system safe and operational.
- Advanced Heat Exchanger Design
- The GR9S96 furnace employs a reliable aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger design. Aluminized steel is used for incredibly efficient heat transfer, and a wrinkle-bend is applied to the tubes to enhance the heat exchanger's dependability and longevity.
- Secondary Heat Exchanger
- This furnace produces addition heat by directing combustion gases through a secondary heat exchanger before they are vented. The secondary heat exchanger is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and it is sloped to prevent condensate build-up.
- Multi-Speed ECM Motor
- The GR9S96's energy efficient blower motor uses the lowest speed it can to deliver precise temperature control for your home while keeping utility bills to a minimum.
- Quiet Comfort
- The blower, motor, and gas valve of the GR9S96 were selected for their incredibly low sound levels. Additionally, this unit's fan speed options make it easy to maintain virtually silent circulation.
- Venting Options
- The GR9S96 offers several venting options to streamline installation in a variety of applications. It can be used in either a two-pipe direct vent setup or a single-pipe configuration with combustion air.
- Easy Integration
- The GR9S96 makes it simple to enhance your system with a humidifier and an electronic air cleaner; just wire them directly to the low-voltage terminals on the control board.
- Self-Diagnostic Control Board
- The GR9S96 continuously monitors the system to ensure reliable operation, stores the last diagnostic codes in memory, and a flashing LED indicates condition for quick troubleshooting.
- Energy-Efficient Compressor
- This unit utilizes an energy-efficient compressor to provide refrigerant flow.
- Copper Tube/Enhanced Aluminum Fin Coil
- The condenser coil of this air conditioner is designed with aluminum fins and copper tubing to maximize efficiency. The fins serve to increase surface area, allowing the heat transfer capabilities of the materials to shine.
- Factory-Installed Filter Drier
- A filter drier is installed in the liquid line of this air conditioner. The filter drier removes moisture and traps impurities, preventing corrosion, freezing, and blockages that can negatively impact the operation of the air conditioner.
- Heavy-Gauge Galvanized-Steel Cabinet
- This cabinet is built to last. Galvanized steel construction, a durable and attractive architectural gray powder-paint finish with 500-hour salt-spray approval, and a steel louver coil guard that protects your equipment from wear and tear.
- Extended Warranty
- Goodman offers a 10-year limited parts warranty when you register your product online within 60 days of installation. An unregistered product has the standard 5-year warranty. See warranty sheet under the "Manuals" tab for more information.

Product Note
The recommended line set size for this system will vary based on the length of line set you require for installation. Compatible line sets can be found under the "Recommended Accessories" tab. | The US Department of Energy regulates minimum efficiency standards for central air conditioners and heat pumps based on geographic regions. We are required to abide by these regulations when selling products, and take this responsibility seriously. The standards depend on the rated efficiency of the entire system, not the nominal efficiencies of individual components. If you are unsure if your system will be compliant, please call or email us for help.

SEER2
The U.S Department of Energy has raised the minimum rating requirements starting in 2023 that include updated testing conditions and metrics to better reflect real-world conditions. SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a measurement of cooling efficiency over a typical cooling season. It is useful for comparing energy efficiency of cooling systems. The higher the SEER2, the more energy efficient the system.
