The Goodman HKR Series Heat Strip have rust resistant nickel chromium heat elements. Completely assembled and tested including a plug in wiring harness for ease of installation in Air Handlers. The Goodman HKR Series Heat Strips offer sequencers for better temperature control. This is the replacement/updated version of the older HKR-20C that was in my 2007 Goodman furnace. There were a few changes so I had an electrician install this and within an hour I had my furnace running again. I looked at several online places and this was the least expensive as well as the quickest shipper. I am glad I ordered from eComfort.com!!!!

My only complaint is the burning smell for the first few weeks of use. I have only had it installed for about a month but it seems to be better now. Every time the defrost cycle would come on and the heat strip would kick in there was a burning smell.

I ordered this to replace the existing, worn out piece in my Goodman package unit. Installation took 10 minutes, wiring was straightforward. The instructions are totally useless. The device works great, like a new unit should.
The breaker that is supplied is not up to the quality of the original and it was difficult to squeeze the two feeder lines into the single contact.

The Goodman 4.5kw heat-strip fits the hole and installs easily, but I was less than happy with the mounting bracket for the circuit breaker. I didn't like the sharp edges and no good way to route the wires to assure no contact with the edges. I have a down-flow which made it necessary to flip the circuit breaker making the wiring more difficult.
In the end, I left the circuit breaker and bracket out and just transferred the ground lug from the old air-handler to the new install as I already had a separate disconnect. The heat strip works fine. 1 star off for cheesy circuit breaker bracket.
