Top notch mini-split
By Chris H.
Farmland, Indiana
Purchased 03/31/2020 |
Review Posted 05/09/2020
This LG Art Premier Mini-Split heat pump is great. Both the indoor evaporator and the outdoor condenser are nearly silent and look great. The remote is logical, has a nice display, and is easy to use. I look forward to purchasing another unit for a different area of my house. This is classic LG quality. The only thing that I could even think to improve would be the instruction sheet. It could be larger and the steps laid out in more logical, easier to follow manner.

Works as I expected it to and more

I installed the unit myself in fall 2016. During install, I was missing a fitting/tool that allows you to hook up vac-pump to vacuum out the lines. Delayed install for a week had to order the part.
I have used over the past three winters, In the first winter, didn't run during the winter wanted to get a baseline for how long it would take to warm up the cabin from usual temps of 0-10°f and how the electric bill would be.
In the last couple of years, I have had the unit running all year long. Electricity use varies from an extra 4 - 90 bucks a month to run. I keep the temperature in Summer 75° this keeps the humidity down and winter 60° to keep things from freezing. 60°f is the lowest setting for the unit. There is an antifreeze mode. I have not tested this because it not will run the risk of the power outage and the temperature dipping down below freezing. The power did go out and lasted for 4 hours, and with the indoor temp at 60°f, the temp dropped down to 38°f before the power returned. Outdoor temp was 5°f. Again last year temps made it down to -25°f. The system worked perfectly down to -20°f then started to have issues with trying to keep the cabin warm. The temp dropped to 42°f. Once the daytime temperature went above -15°f, the system started to pump out the heat again.
I use the WiFi to control the system to raise the heat before I show up to the cabin. That works nice. Over the three years, I have had a few power loss one or two of them caused the WiFi not to reconnect. A power reset took care of that issue, and a neighbor helped me with that when I was not at the cabin.
Overall the system has worked well for me. The cabin is located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Note: When I'm at the cabin, I have a wood-burning stove as my primary heat source.

Sunroom Relief
By Todd P.

Review Posted 08/21/2019
We Love,Love, Love this system. Researched many units and the LG stood out as the best. In the summer our room was so hot we couldn't use it and in the winter we ran a space heater but it couldn't keep up. We mounted the unit under a window and it turned out to be PERFECT. Hired a heating guy I know to install everything and he was done in about 2 hours. Can finally enjoy our sunroom. The pricing was the best I could find for this unit and everything arrived shortly after I ordered.

The upstairs rooms in my home never had the proper returns setup when the house was build (40's) so the ducts never supplied the same hot/cold air that the downstairs received. After talking with my next door neighbor he put me on to mini splits. I spent my time reading up on the subject and this LG unit is what ended up being ideal for my situation. The entire system was setup today and it works like a dream. I had previously used mobile AC units for the rooms that were drawing 9 amps each whereas both the new units together running at their coolest setting (18c) has a combined 4.3amp drain. According to the label on the side of the unit they are less efficient in the winter as heat pumps but seeing as how its upstairs rooms that they would be heating I hope it won't be that big of a deal.
Compared to the option of busting out drywall, running new ducts, installing new drywall and then painting the cost of these units is a fraction of the cost I was looking at. Coupled with the efficiency they provide and its a no brainer. The wall mounts inside are quiet and very sleek looking. The remotes look rather cheap and reminiscent of a motel tv remote but that is my only knock on the system at this point.
Overall eComfort had the best cost and selection from what I found. The outside unit arrived with one of the plastic plugs pushed in to the fins so I thought the unit might have been damaged in transit. My HVAC installer told me it was fine and after powering everything up and having zero leaks it backed up that assessment. I would recommend buying the install kits as well. My installer told me that he would buy the accessories at cost for me but after hearing the price he told me to go through eComfort. Since I didn't order it initially I had to pay shipping for two orders so there's a regret right there.
While this might sound like a fanboy/bought review it is not. There is nothing I can do to convince you otherwise if you think what is written is too good to be true. All I can say is that today I moved out the two mobile AC units as well as the two heaters from both of my tenants rooms and I'm paying a fraction of the heating/cooling bills I was before.

So Quiet
By Michael L.
Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Purchased 06/04/2019 |
Review Posted 08/08/2019
We live in the mountains of Colorado and wanted to make sure that we had a unit that could heat during the cold winters in addition to the obvious need for air conditioning in the summer. We have a very small 460 sq ft condo and really only needed the 9k BTU but the 12K BTU was on sale for just $100 more than the 9k BTU so we went ahead and upgraded to this unit. After installing and using the unit, I am sure that the 9K BTU would have been fine as it is very efficient. It is so quiet we seriously cannot hear it when it is running. I believe you will not be disappointed if you purchase a premier unit. We are the first unit in our complex to put an air conditioning unit in and everyone that has come by to see it is so impressed with how quick it is to cool and how completely quiet it is.

We are really enjoying having this unit. It does a great job of keeping our small space warm or cool. When the temperature drops to the low 30's it seems to struggle to regulate and makes lots of noise in the process. Other then that it is a fairly quite machine.

Works very well and energy efficent

I use this in a cabin in Wisconsin. WiFi connection is perfect for us to warm up or cool down the cabin before we arrive. I use a cellular hotspot as my internet connect. This keeps my cabin warm as the specs. claim -13 degree f outside temperature. Cooling has no issue. Quality is Good just plastic is very thin and flimsy. But once installed it has no bearing on operational functionality. I mounted the outside unit to the cabin two feet off the ground so the snow does not bury the unit and stop its operation. This choice once in awhile the unit is running some noise will resonate through the building. This is not loud it is or very noticeable but I notice it.
The only issue I had was that you needed a special fitting to complete the installation. to vacuum out the lines and do a leak test before you can release the refrigerant. It just delayed installation a week so I can order on Amazon.
