Working Well, So Far. Quiet. A Bit Pricey
By Eric

Purchased 10/28/2024 |
Review Posted 12/31/2024
Installed 2 of these recently to replace our aging pumps. They're working well so far (only been 3 months). Quieter than previous ones. Appear to be solid construction. Cost about twice as much as I wanted to spend, but hoping they last for years. Made in USA. Good reputation. Will see if they last.

Arrived promptly. The pump looked good and I could tell it was a quality piece of equipment. Pumped like a bandit, reduced my pumping time from one hour down to one-half hour.

My last 280 had been in service for a decade so I proactively replaced it with another 280. Great dependable pump at a good price.

So, what "features" come with a sump pump? Especially when you order the version without any type of switch?
As for Quality. If heft is a factor, it is solidly built. Compared to others, this one does have a plastic top.
Performance comes with a very quiet operations factor. Add in a quiet check valve and most wouldn't even recognize when it was running.
Value seemed to be inline from other manufacturers pumps that I was researching.
Handily more quiet than our last one, let's hope it last as long. Not because I had to replace it but I chose to at just over 10 years.

Liberty Pumps 280

This pump is very high quality, moves a lot of water and is whisper quiet. I paired it with a Hydrocheck HC-6000v2 Hi-Lo electronic pump switch and it has worked flawlessly for the past year. The Liberty pumps aren’t the cheapest on the market, but they are built like a tank. Hoping for a few more years of dependable performance (I replace my pumps every 3 years - I consider it cheap insurance).
I highly recommend the Hydrocheck switch over a standard mechanical switch. Just make sure to follow the directions to install a separate grounding wire.

I had to replace a failed effluent pump on my septic system. This pump installed without modification. It has only been a month, however it has worked as it should. Very quite, I am not able to hear it even standing over the pump tank. Shipped on time and e-mail notifications were great.

I purchased the Liberty 280 1/2 HP Sump Pump and the LevelGuard Z24800A1Z Electronic Sump Pump Switch to replace an aging builder grade pump. Installation was very easy and both components seem to work very well together. I am looking forward to many years of flawless operation.
