Our water pressure is about 30 to 32 psi. What is the minimum pressure needed to run the SJ-10?

I have 2 sump pumps in our basement and they are electric don't have any flooding problems just scared if a storm hit and knock out all power the pumps want work. So will a waterpowered or battery backup work which is better and will I have to replace my pumps with either one .

Hi Jim,
I'm looking at the Liberty built SJ10 pump to work as a backup as we have had issues with water in the basement in the past. After reading some of its literature, I noticed it needs a minimum of 20 PSI of municipal pressure to work. Is there a way to check for this before ordering this product? Also it's advertised as pumping 990 gph/10'. What does this mean? In your experience is this a well built pump or are there better out there as a back-up and for similar money? I have read a few negative reviews about the float switch being very cheap and flimsy and the spring loaded check valve not operating correctly. Also, there has been a review stating it doesn't remove enough water fast enough. I'd love to hear what you think!
