Features
- Precision Temperature Control Technology
- The MUZ-FH18NA2 outdoor condenser includes inverter technology and an electronic linear expansion valve. By adjusting compressor speed and refrigerant flow, output can be matched to the zone for precise temperature control and improved efficiency.
- i-see Sensor 3D
- The MSZ-FH18NA2's i-see Sensor 3D monitors its zone for fluctuations in temperature. If it detects an underserved area, the MSZ-FH18NA2 will temporarily direct airflow to that zone. It also enters energy save mode if no human heat signatures are detected.
- H2i Technology
- Low or negative ambient temperatures don't bother the MUZ-FH18NA2. It is rated for 100% heating capacity at 5 degrees F and 73% at -13 degrees F.
- Advanced Filtration System
- The MSZ-FH18NA2 uses two advanced filters to clean and deodorize the circulated air. The deodorizing filter absorbs any offending smells, while the second is an enzyme-based anti-allergy filter that captures and destroys bacteria and particulates.
- Hot-Start
- Mitsubishi's hot start technology prevents cold drafts by delaying fan operation until the heat exchanger has warmed up.
- Powerful Mode
- The powerful setting on the MSZ-FH18NA2 makes it easy to get your zone to the perfect temperature quickly. When activated, the unit temporarily increases refrigerant flow and fan speed to provide quick comfort through rapid heating or cooling.
- Econo Cool Mode
- By slowly adjusting the cooling set point and swinging the horizontal vanes, the MSZ-FH18NA2 can improve the efficiency of cooling operations without compromising the comfort provided.
- Dehumidification
- When the indoor unit runs in dry mode, the coil's temperature stays just below the dew point of the return air, removing unwanted moisture. This improves comfort and reduces the chance of mold growth and other property damage in the conditioned space.
- Vane Control
- Optimal air flow can be achieved with the MSZ-FH18NA2 thanks to two vane control options, standard and wide. Auto mode selects the best vane position based on operating mode while swing mode cycles through each vane position.
- (1) Mitsubishi - 18k BTU - FH-Series H2i Outdoor Condenser - Single Zone Only (MUZ-FH18NA2)
- (1) Mitsubishi FH-Series 18k BTU Wall Mounted Unit - For Multi or Single-Zone (MSZ-FH18NA2)
- Line Set - This double insulated tubing transfers refrigerant efficiently between your outdoor condenser and indoor unit.
- Drain Tubing - Drain tubing facilitates the reliable and effective removal of condensate from your system. It connects your indoor unit to drain locations of your choosing.
- Disconnect Box & Electrical Whip Kit - The Disconnect Box & Whip Kit provides a safe and simple way to connect your outdoor condenser to your fuse box.
- Connecting Wire - This durable, insulated wire provides power to your indoor unit from your outdoor condenser.
- Base Pan Heater - The base pan heater prevents ice from building up on the outdoor unit. Excessive ice build will lead to performance issues and could damage your unit.
- Outdoor Condenser Plastic Pad or Wall Bracket - We recommend outdoor condensers should not be placed directly on the ground. An outdoor condenser pad or wall bracket will provide a stable way to mount your condenser free from obstructions and debris.
For over 50 years, Mitsubishi has remained at the forefront of the mini split industry thanks to their dedication to providing efficient, user-friendly comfort solutions. Part of Mitsubishi's hyper-heating product line, the MZ-FH18NA is a packaged single zone heat pump mini split system designed to bring high-efficiency zoned comfort to homes in frigid climates. The wall mounted indoor unit, MSZ-FH18NA2, boasts a functional design, and operates at volumes as low as 32 dB. Thanks to the included mounting plate, it is easy to install on nearly any wall. The outdoor condenser uses some of the most advanced technology available to modulate temperature without the energy-wasting overshoots and short-cycling associated with simpler systems. With an included wireless remote controller, this system is the perfect combination of convenience and comfort for any application in a sub-freezing environment.

We previously owned 2 of these Units...
By Kriss F.

Review Posted 01/24/2020
Because of prior experience with this product (heat pump/ac combo), we purchased this brand again for another home we are renovating. It is winter so haven't used it yet, but we are confident all will be well as in the past. The units never failed us nor needed maintenance.

An exceptional unit
By Lou F.

This is quite the unit. Provides almost unlimited comfort no matter what the temps are outside. It is a quality made item and most importantly, easy to service and work on. You may pay less money for an "off" brand but that would be a long run mistake. Don't get sucked in by "price" but by value. This unit provides tremendous value.

DIY Easy Perfect System
By Nickolai K.
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Purchased 07/14/2017 |
Review Posted 09/18/2017
I wanted a ductless heat and cooling A/C system for my 500 square foot workshop. I wanted the highest SEER possible at a reasonable price. I obtained 2 verbal quotes from a local HVAC company. I researched online various companies.
eComfort had the best price and the best online and phone support. It was eComfort phone support by Bob that really made the difference. The local HVAC sales person attempted to scare me by listing all the problems that a DIY project would entail. Bob set my mind at ease.
It cools nicely. It is better than the window A/C that I removed. I will no longer have to use an open flame LPG heater in the winter. It is too quiet. Even the compressor motor outside is super quiet.

Split Unit
By Namir Z.
W. Bloomfield, Michigan
Purchased 06/13/2017 |
Review Posted 08/17/2017
Despite I got more than what they recommend for my space, make sure you count double the size needed before ordering.
Instructions are not clear, and we spent a lot of time in installation because there was a leak. It took me a whole month and 2 weeks before I got it to run.... Barely enough.
I must say though, very very quiet.

Perfect Answer To The Problem
By James F.
Fremont, Ohio
Purchased 06/21/2017 |
Review Posted 08/06/2017
I have added a room onto the back of my all-electric house so we needed to find an economical way to heat and cool the 14 x 22 ft room. The ductless HVAC system from Mitsubishi appears to have been a great answer. It is VERY quiet, has loads of different configurations available on the remote to program the unit to meet your individual needs and the H2i SEER 30.5 energy rating won't empty our wallet. I spoke to several HVAC technicians and sales people and they almost all recommended Mitsubishi for its quality and performance. The technician who installed it was impressed with how quiet the unit was saying that it was quieter than any other brand he had installed. Finally, the folks at eComfort helped me with the order to make sure that I ordered the additional pieces to make the entire installation complete including the HideALine, surge protector, etc.
