Features
- Top and Bottom Piping Connections
- The HSB63 has top and bottom connections for supply and return piping. The vertical connections allow the unit heater to be faced any direction during installation.
- Two Piece Casing
- A two piece casing is used with the HSB63, allowing for incredibly easy access to the coil in case maintenance is required.
- Tapped Suspension Holes
- The HSB63 comes with pre-drilled tapped holes for suspension by threaded rod. This reduces installation time for your contractor, saving you money on installation.
- Thermal Shock Resistant
- The serpentine copper tube coil is very resistant to thermal shock even at high steam temperatures. This prevents undesired warping of the coil itself, as well as decreasing necessary maintenance.
- Smart Coil Layout
- The layout of the coil does not include coil headers. This eliminates potential leaks and maintenance without increasing the overall size of the unit.
- Baked-On Polyester Paint
- The HSB63 features a neutral colored baked-on polyester paint, providing excellent corrosion resistance and durability while blending in with a wide variety of environments.
- Modine Installation
- Installation by a professional installer is required by the manufacturer.

Modine HSB63S01 Reviews & Ratings
If you're looking to take advantage of your existing hydronic system to power your unit heater, the Modine HSB series is a reliable, popular choice. Heating large, open spaces is easy with the horizontal orientation and powerful fan. A safety guard is bolted to the rear casing to provide constant protection against accidental contact with the fan blade. The top and bottom connections on the HSB63S01 make it easy to install and allow it to be rotated 360 degrees for maximum coverage or targeted heating. And just for kicks, the copper heat exchanger makes this unit heater compatible with both steam and hot water, in case you decide down the line to change mediums.

Overall Good

eComfort.com was great. Called them to verify what I was looking at and they were very helpful. when I got the Modine heater. The box was in good shape but the heating fins were all banged up and bent. When it was assembled at the Modine factory they were very rough with it. I straightened all the fins best as possible and installed. It works well and the heat exchange is good. Overall happy.

Disappointing

Replaced 5 heaters in a fire station truck bay. Same model and style as the old ones that were 20+ years old. Every one of them had the pipe connections askew. Not a one of them was straight. Looks pretty bad when all of the new piping is off plumb. Not impressed.

Use Vibration Dampening
By Daniel S.

I finally got this installed and working. I like the copper heat exchanger and the compact size. I mounted the first one to concrete walls to avoid vibration above. It took some adjusting to get the louvers to stop vibrating and making noise. It looks like a slick little heater and I expect it will last longer than me.
The only down side is the vibration from the fan. I'll have to cut the pipe and put in some vibration dampening. It carries the vibration through the pipes into the hangers and then to the floor. It's secured to concrete walls and that protects the floor above from direct vibration, but i can hear it when it runs.
