The QuietCool Solar Roof Mount Attic Fan uses the power of sunlight to power its motor to help prevent any heat or moisture build-up in your attic. Because an attic's air is typically the hottest in the house, this Solar Roof Mount Attic Fan will help reduce the strain put on your air conditioner and help save on energy costs. An included AC/DC inverter allows the Solar Attic Fan to transition from solar power to electric power as soon as the sun goes down. A built-in preset thermostat will activate the fan at temperatures above 83° F and turn off once it reaches 72° F. The included solar panel features polycrystalline material that provides up to 2-4 times the output of the industry standard.

Pros:
Works well in direct sun
Easy installation
Helps keep home in 70s with no a/c
Well built, with a 15 year motor and panel warranty
Comes with adapter for 120v backup
Panel is adjustable, angle and can rotate 360 degrees
Instant fan movement upon uncovering panel
Cons:
Heavy, fun lugging onto roof. Lug up after the hole is cut so it doesn't risk falling off the roof.
Without direct sun, fan slows, but the backup 120v power source takes over. You'll hear the fan cycle with cloud cover or low sun, but that's understandable.
Thermostat is not adjustable. This is the only con that really bothers me. It's built into the fan.
After reviewing many fans for weeks, this was the one I tried. Ordered two for my home.
I am very pleased with the results. Money savings instant. Comfortable temperatures. Already bragged about it to customers, and I'll be installing a few in the coming weeks!
eComfort reached out to me regarding a problem with the shipping. After I was able to get in contact with them, they resolved the issue professionally and quickly. I didn't even know there was a problem, but they kept me in the loop.
Thank you!

The QuietCool AFR SLR-40 arrived to my house well packaged. No assembly needed (except side arms to tilt to the solar panel) and super easy to install. Covered my existing 16 inch diameter hole from previous electric attic fan with room to spare. Once the solar panel was tilted toward the sun the fan immediate began to run. Extremely quiet fan operation. I have not connected the plug to an outlet, yet. It isn't a high priority for I live in Central Florida. However, once I get an outlet nearby the fan it will be an easy plug in without wiring needed.
We have had a few hard rain showers and I was concerned about leaks for I have the solar panel all the way open, but I have not discovered any leaks.
I installed this myself, however I did have someone below to hold the ladder. The pitch on my roof was not too steep. If you have a roof that has a steep pitch I would suggest a helper for the unit has some weight to it.
