Rinnai has been delivering nothing but the best for almost 100 years and that award-winning dedication can't help but be noticed in their HE+ Series. The RL94iN and all of the HE+ Series models offer the highest output of Rinnai's non-condensing line of tankless heaters. Rinnai's HE+ Series models utilize breaking edge recirculation technology to provide optimal operation with their dedicated recirculation line. With a 0.81 Uniform Energy Factor and a sleek, innovative design, the RL94iN is a superior option that is easily maintained thanks to included isolation valves.

replacing a old 100 gallon water heater that was an energy hog. Very happy with the speed of the hot water to the faucet and never running out of hot water. Can't wait to see the savings on our electric bill.

Very good water heater

I read a lot of complaints about how long it took to get hot water. The only thing I can think of is that people have really long lines because I notice almost no difference between this and my standard hot water tank. about 30 seconds and my water is hot.

I found this Rinnai by comparing prices online. I found this website, called and asked several questions. After doing my homework, I ordered the product, saving me a few hundred from our local plumbing supply store. Great experience!

Way too Slow...using too much water
By Dale E.

Review Posted 09/16/2016
I installed the heater per the installation instructions...upgrading my natural gas line to 3/4" from the meter to the heater. I am satisfied with how quiet the unit is, but it is taking way too long to get any hot water. We have metered water and it is expensive. Any savings I may have gained from doing away with the pilot lite and storage tank will be more than lost letting the water run for 2 to 3 times longer than with a tanked water heater.

Expert Response
A tankless hot water heater will not improve the time it takes for hot water to reach your fixtures, but it should also not increase the amount of time it takes. I can think of only two reasons why this may seem to be the case. It is possible that the hot water line is cooling more quickly because there is no longer a storage tank full of hot water to help keep it warm. This may account for a small difference in how quickly hot water reaches the fixture. There is also a brief delay after a hot water fixture is opened before the heater fires and reaches operating temperature, but this should not be more than 2-3 seconds. Total, these two differences may account for the water reaching the fixture 5-10 seconds slower than with your tank type water heater, but I am unaware of any differences that would account for a change on the scale you describe.
That said, I believe that a recirculating pump with proper controls can resolve the issues you are experiencing and ensure you have hot water available almost instantly without contributing much to your energy costs. We would be happy to help you select an appropriate recirculation solution and also discuss other ways to improve your system's efficiency.

I love this system. It's been installed in my house for almost two years now and have no problems at all and all the hot water I need. I would recommend this to anyone replacing a hot water unit. Originally, I had a tankless coil in the furnance and that required the furnace to run all year long. Now, I can shut off the furnace during the summer. Also, this product is energy star compliant which means a payback from uncle sam during tax time.
