- Compact design saves space.
- The RUC98iN is designed to be able to be installed on any wall or in any compact space. With flexible venting options allowing for direct, concentric or twin pipe installations, Rinnai tankless water heaters are perfect for any home.
- Energy-efficient promise that saves you money.
- Tankless water heaters avoid the need to keep a large amount of reserve water heated at all times. This saves energy by only heating water when you need it, while an entirely electric ignition avoids the constantly wasted energy of a standing pilot light.
- Continuous Water for Multiple Applications
- Rinnai tankless water heaters provide an endless supply of hot water that remains uninterrupted, even when you're the last one in line for the shower.
Rinnai has been delivering nothing but the best for almost 100 years and that award-winning dedication can't help but be noticed in its SE+ Series. The RUC98iN and all of the SE+ Series models offer Rinnai's incredibly efficient condensing design line of tankless heaters. Rinnai's SE+ Series models utilize two premium heat exchangers to provide optimal reliability and durability. With a 0.92 Uniform Energy Factor and a sleek, innovative design, the RUC98iN is the ultimate option, and is easily maintained thanks to included isolation valves.

replacing a old 100 gallon water heater that was an energy hog. Very happy with the speed of the hot water to the faucet and never running out of hot water. Can't wait to see the savings on our electric bill.

This thing exceeded my expectations, i have a 2 bathroom home and we would regularly run out of hot water with a 40gal tank heater. When my tank was showing signs of leaking i started researching tankless and found this heater great price and better performance. I was skeptical that i was going to have to use a higher water temp setting being on a well in michigan, but we are only on the second settings at 125deg F, and the water is plenty hot and produces tons of hot water. This heater is amazing. Just do your home work on what you need if you are doing the install yourself.

Very good water heater

I read a lot of complaints about how long it took to get hot water. The only thing I can think of is that people have really long lines because I notice almost no difference between this and my standard hot water tank. about 30 seconds and my water is hot.

Top of the line water heater

Review Posted 06/08/2018
i purchased this heater to replace a tanked water heater because it took up less space and as energy efficient. This has allowed me to move my water heater and save energy cost. I am now able to use the space where the old heater was for additional storage.

It really is Forever Hot Water
By Peter G.

This is our second RUC98iN. We left the first one installed in the house we sold after using it for more than 5 years. My wife and I have 6 kids, so you can imagine the water usage is pretty high. As much fun as cold showers are, this water heater ends that problem. It maxes out at 120F hot water, which is colder than most people are used to, but after a couple of weeks of it, you get used to turning up the hot water a little further than you used to and not running out of hot water. You don't need it as hot because it never runs out. The huge advantage of the max temperature is you and your kids don't get scalded by nearly boiling water. It is always consistently the same temperature. There is a slight delay of a gallon or so before the hot water comes. You can get rid of this delay if you plumb the recirculating model.
Cons: It is more initially expensive. It also wall mounts, so it is a bit heavy to hold up and screw onto the wall. Lighter than a tank, but not a one person job. Special venting requirements (you'll likely need to install a new vent pipe).
Pros: Consistent, forever hot water. Monthly cost savings. Our last one paid for itself in reduced natural gas bills in less than a year. Water comes out of the tap at a consistent temperature. No scalding to freezing variations. Takes up much less space than a tank water heater. The Rinnai and a water softener fit in the same footprint as the old tank used to.
Overall, this made such a difference that the first thing we did when we bought our next house was pull out the tank water heater and put in another one of these Rinnai. Highly recommended.

Two weeks and all is well. Too early to really pass judgment on how well it works in all conditions such as freezing weather and mud daubers. Beautifully made and very quiet.
