Excellent Home Upgrade
By CH
Oregon
Purchased 04/16/2024 |
Review Posted 05/07/2024
Our previous 40 gal. gas water heater was undersized and over 16 years old. This tankless unit took only a few hours to install and has been an incredible upgrade to our home. This is my first tankless system and it feels like such a luxury to finally be able to take as long of a shower as I want. For the first time we were able to have family stay with us knowing that even with both showers running, no one would ever have to worry about using up all the hot water. It's quiet and it freed up space in the corner of our garage. Absolutely worth every penny!

Takagi T-H3 - 6.3 GPM (Indoor model)
By J. V.
Levering, Michigan
Purchased 12/07/2019 |
Review Posted 03/22/2020
This is my second Takagi tankless hot water system. After 3 months of use the TH3 unit consistently produces hot water as described for 45-50 degree intake temperature with no hot/cold "surges." The only main drawback of purchasing the new unit is the lack of a remote control (must buy separately for indoor model). I called Takagi customer service before my purchase and they told me the remote was included (which it was not). Not reassuring customer service. The knowledgeable folks at eComfort gave me the correct info about the need to purchase a separate controller. Concerning the performance of the unit itself, the only issue I have is the power fan can be pretty loud (almost like the blower is not balanced properly for high RPM). This can be annoying if you are sensitive to noises or installed on a wall adjacent to a room where you wouldn't appreciate the noise. I installed mine on a basement wall. My original unit that failed after 15 years (due to heat exchanger leak) was not this loud. I may try to install isolators to the wall mount in order to mitigate some of the vibration. Everything else works as advertised. I would purchase again (but hopefully will not have to for a long while).
