The unit arrived safely and on time, well packed, and was easily installed. I should have bought this years ago as I can now fill the bath tub in the house.

Simplest Install Imaginable !
By Diana H. M.
Bountiful, Utah
Purchased 12/19/2018 |
Review Posted 01/11/2019
This unit was purchased as replacement for a Noritz unit with near identical specs that quit working properly in less than 4 months AFTER the 5-year warrnty expired.
It's too recent an install to give much in the way of performance reviews, but it started immediately and has been operating flawlessly for about 10 days time will tell. Having said that, the main reason for choosing this heater was the exceptionally LOW service rates compared to other manufacturers of similar heaters.
Installation was incredibly easy and accomplished in just over 2 hours, start to finish. I was Amazed !! The only (relatively minor) challenge was preparing the intake & vent PVC connectors to fit the unit: the rough edges had to be filed smooth and and a bit rounded for them to fit, but once done they slid into place almost effortlessly and sealed well with the o-rings inside.
After going through the install, it's not hard to understand why the service rates for Takagi water heaters is so low.
My only "gripe" ... unless there's a setting option I haven't found, the temperature adjustments are in 5 degree F, larger than I would like.

Awesome in northern climate
By Scott D
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Purchased 11/09/2017 |
Review Posted 12/19/2018
I was worried it wouldn't be able to give me the 85 degree temperature difference I was looking for in a tank-less water heater but it takes 40 degree lake Michigan water and raises it to 125 with no issues. I tried to find the point it couldn't maintain temperature but even when it's coldest in January and February it holds the temperature when using both our showers, the dish washer, and laundry machine. I am very impressed.

great product

was delivered almost overnight! installation was a breeze. Had propane gas supply and hook up done by a professional. he finished within 1 hour.
Great performance. Note: dip switches do not match the pitures as shown in manual.
Total cost of installation was the same as estimated 40 gal hot water tank installation

So far, so good.
By Alexi M.
Boulder, Colorado
Purchased 04/24/2018 |
Review Posted 05/17/2018
This unit has been installed for just over a week and it's doing well so far. My only complaint is that the water takes longer to get hot at the tap on an upstairs bathroom. I installed this unit because of a bathroom remodel that included a 70 gallon soaking tub. I think it will be just fine for filling up the tub with hot water. I wonder about the efficiency of the unit when it turns on for a short burst of hot water, but future energy bills will tell. Also, if you're installing it as a DIY'er, vertical venting can be tricky. I had to replace the galvanized flue with stainless Z-flex and along with the special drain valves and plumbing, it was almost as much as the heater.
