Features

Over the last 130 years, Weil-McLain has built a reputation of designing some of the most reliable boilers in the marketplace. If you want to leverage the power and efficiency of your boiler for domestic hot water, then the Aqua Plus 45 is a great choice. The Aqua Plus is a domestic hot water option that fits many applications and is designed for ease of installation in any system. Design features such as consolidated connection points and adjustable leg heights provide simplicity and flexibility when it comes to setting up the Aqua Plus. The large diameter and tight winding of the heat exchanger coil keep the pressure drop and recovery times low. A poly-resin top and woven vinyl outer jacket protect the Aqua Plus from wear and tear and keep the water heater looking as good as it runs.
  • 316L Stainless Steel
  • High quality, durable components provide peace of mind. The Aqua Plus features stainless steel for both its heat exchanger and its storage tank. Stainless steel resists corrosion that could negatively affect the unit's performance.
  • Efficiency-Boosting Insulation
  • Discouraging heat loss is one of the best ways to improve efficiency. The Aqua Plus has two inches of dense foam insulation that brings heat loss as low as 0.4 degrees per hour.
  • Fully Passivated and Welded Design
  • The Aqua Plus comes fully passivated and welded to protect against corrosive water conditions, eliminating the need for a magnesium anode rod.
  • Digital Control
  • The Aqua Plus features a digital thermostat that ensures precise accuracy for optimal performance. The thermostat probe is already installed for quick and easy wiring. Temperature and pressure relief valves are also standard equipment on the Aqua Plus.

I installed the tank and was immediately impressed. In a very short time the demand for heat shut off indicating we had hot water, and we did.

Pulled out 12 year old Weil McLain unit and replace with this one. Piping was different so needed to make changes, hopefully it last as long or longer.

Installation quick and straight forward. I installed the whole system 24 years ago and at 79 opted to let a plumber do this one.

Great Product! A Little Pricey And Could Use More Features.

My cousin (a steam pipe fitter) and I installed this in an evening, which replaced a 25-year old Weil-McLain 40. So, the quality and durability is a no-brainer! We have this connected to a hot water boiler with a Taco 3-wire zone valve and set at 115 degrees. Neither of us had ever wired a zone valve and we couldn't use the old one for reference, because it has been disconnected. So, I took a Google crash course on Taco valves and ended up re-wiring all three zones so that it wiring made sense to me and could more easily map to the schematic. Good news...it works! We actually had the thermostat set at 120, but knocked it back after everyone in the house complained it was too hot. The tank also seems to hold heat extremely well, therefore needing to call for heat less often. Lastly, I can't believe how expensive these things are, and the difference between going next size up is substantial. But I guess you get what you pay for, and 25 years of service is incredible.

Running great after the first month

I have found that this product was a good investment even if it was pricey but if it lasts as long as my other one the price then isn’t bad. I would recommend it to anyone it was self explanatory for putting in and was very light weight for getting into my basement. I’ve only had it up and running for about a month but everything works as supposed to. Will write another review after the first year!!

Installed this yesterday, simple! Had hot water and was in the shower in 40 minutes after getting it up and running. Excellent quality & fairly priced, replaced a crown after 16 years. Hopefully this lasts as long, if not longer!

Quality is still available and affordable!

This was a replacement for a Bradford White that had built obsolescence It was designed to fail. JUNK! This new Weil-McLain is impressive by comparison. The warranty is far above other manufacturers. I was very impressed with the construction and more impressed with the function. A few dollars more than some other brands, but well worth it. I wish I had bought this item the first go round. If so I most likely wouldn't be writing this review. I wouldn't have been in need of another water heater.. Quality in America still exists.. Bravo!
