Furnace fan was cycling on and off at random intervals, placing a strain on the blower. After checking out the system, my HVAC tech said it might be the thermostat (I had installed an old T87 unit some time ago.) I asked him for suggestions then ordered this Emerson single-stage unit. It went in in a half-hour, and is easy to operate. I wasn't able to run on fan-only without the fan cycling on/off until I installed the Emerson thermostat. Very glad this unit is in. I am going to keep the house cooler in the warm weather, warmer in the cool weather and save a lot of money on my electric and gas bills.
