Bottom grill flimsy. Should be stronger. Have not seen electric bill yet so can’t comment on economy but hands down better than quartz/infrared or baseboard. Throws a broad spread of heat. Great product

Fire Hazard with No Help from Ecomfort

Review Posted 11/07/2024
I bought this furnace a year ago. When first ordered, my credit card bill came through with multiple fraudulent charges associated with the purchase. I sorted through and fixed it. The order was then delayed for about 2 months. When I finally received it, it worked for a short time and then I smelled burning. I opened it up to discover the wiring had caught fire and melted. I called ecomfort, who informed me I had to pay out of pocket for an electrician to assess and speak with the manufacturer, Williams, which I did. Williams gave no helpful information and essentially hung up on the electrician with no solution. He fixed it himself (costing me more), and I went back to ecomfort to explain. They then refused to help because the original payment was frozen due to the fraud charges. I resolved that with the bank, the payment went through again, and in the meantime the furnace CAUGHT FIRE A SECOND TIME. I contacted ecomfort who has refused to help me until I AGAIN hire an electrician and have him/her speak to Williams. This feels like a pointless and expensive circle to go in, with everyone pointing the liability finger in the other direction. Ecomfort won't even allow me to speak with a manager, let alone do anything to help the fact that they sold me a fire hazard faulty furnace. I've got a baby in the house, it's coming up on winter again, I'm at my wits end, and out the cost of the heater, the electrician, and hours upon hours of my time trying to deal with this. DO NOT BUY.
