I needed this little pump up in a back up situation only although hopefully I won't need it if you look at the picture I already have 3 pumps in the pit in addition to this Zoeller on standby (literally) it is standing by the sump pit(in the back right in the picture). We will See!!

During the first initial use of this pump it would only just come one and hum not doing anything, However I found out that it wont pump unless there is at least a 1/4" inch amount of water or close to it. The pump then will start and it does move water fairly easily and strong flow is provided.
During heavy rains I have water that comes in under my garage doors and floods the garage floor, I used this pump to get the water out fairly quickly and down to bare minimum there I then use a wet vac to finish what might remain.
Pump does the job as is intended and hopefully it will last

Expert Response
Based on your description of your application, here's a suggestion that might help. You may want to consider installing a french drain system in front of your garage door. A french drain is basically a long grate that allows water to enter, that usually empties into a ditch or basin. This should prevent most of the water entering your garage during heavy rains.
There's plenty of information that can be found about these systems with a quick Google search.
